Annual CASIU Awards

The deadline to nominate for any of the awards is August 31, 2016
Award year runs from previous August to August of current year.

INSURANCE INVESTIGATOR OF THE YEAR

To be nominated for the investigator of the year award, the nominee must be in good standing with CASIU at the time of the award. The nominee must be the primary or lead investigator who conducted the majority of the investigative tasks that proved the fraud. One or more significant events of the investigation must have occurred during the year of the award. Significant events are defined as the majority of investigative activities, indictments/criminal charges being filed or civil actions. Award year runs from previous August to August of current year.

The factors considered in evaluating nominees include:

  • Impact made to the nominee’s special investigation unit or company
  • Positive effect the investigation had on the insurance industry or on the outside community
  • Uniqueness and exceptional qualities of the investigation

LAW ENFORCEMENT PERSONNEL OF THE YEAR

CASIU’s Law Enforcement Personnel of the Year recognizes IBC, Law Enforcement, Crown Attorneys, and representatives from Public Agencies and/or organizations. One or more significant events of the investigation must have occurred during the year of the award. Significant events are defined as the majority of investigative activities, criminal charges filed or civil actions. The nominee must be a member in good standing of their department, or organization during the investigation time period. Award year runs from previous August to August of current year.

Considerations for award include:

  • Impact made to the nominee’s department or organization
  • Positive effect the investigation had on the insurance industry and on the outside community
  • Uniqueness and exceptional qualities of the investigation

AWARD OF MERIT

CASIU’s Outstanding Service Award recognizes contributions to the insurance industry, an individual’s company or individual, the community and the association. Nominees may be anyone who has made a substantial contribution to insurance anti-fraud efforts.

The factors considered in evaluating nominees include:

  • Impact made to the nominee’s special investigation unit, company, agency or organization
  • Positive impact of service to the community
  • Significant contributions to the success of CASIU through:
    o Volunteering at chapter events
    o Serving as a chapter board member
    o Serving as an CASIU board member
    o Volunteering as a member of or chairing an CASIU committee
    o Providing quality anti-fraud training to members of the industry
